What services do you provide?
Physiotherapy, exercise physiology and hydrotherapy for a wide range of injuries and conditions.
If you are unsure please feel free to give us a call and we may be able to help you or may be able to direct you to someone that can.
What’s the difference between a physiotherapist and exercise physiologist?
Physiotherapists diagnose and provide hands on treatment along with exercise.
An exercise physiologist provides tailored exercise programs in consultation with either your physiotherapist, GP or both.
What should I expect on my first appointment?
At your first appointment your physio will discuss with you the history of your injury or problem to fully understand how it has occurred and how it impacts your life. It is important to us that we understand your specific needs and establish your desired goals from treatment, so that we can tailor your treatment plan to help you achieve them.
Your physio will perform a detailed examination of your presenting problem to determine what areas need to be addressed or treated before providing you with a diagnosis and explaining it to you in plain English so it is easy to understand. They will then advise you on what type of treatment options are effective for your problem or whether any further investigations such as x-rays or MRI’s might be needed.
Your physio will then discuss with you an effective treatment or rehabilitation plan that takes into account your work, leisure activities and general health. This treatment plan usually includes a combination of hands-on therapy, education and specific exercise prescription with the aim of getting your pain free and achieving your goals.
Is physiotherapy covered by private health insurance?
We accept all private health funds, and have HiCaps available on site so you can claim your rebate then and there.
Your level of private health insurance cover will determine the amount of your rebate.
We are a preferred treatment provider for HCF, and part of the More for Muscles program which usually covers the entire cost of your initial consultation.
Does Medicare cover physiotherapy?
Medicare may subsidise up to 5 visits for physiotherapy or exercise physiology every 12 months.
To access this service you will need a Chronic Disease Management plan from your GP.
Do I need a referral?
No, physiotherapists are first contact practitioners and you do not need a referral to see us.
However, if you have referral from a GP or surgeon bring it in so we can liaise with them more efficiently about your treatment.
